I Fought The Nap And The Nap Won: Rockabye Baby! Lullabies The Clash, 3.25

British punk icons The Clash are receiving a baby-friendly transformation from award-winning lullaby series Rockabye Baby with the release of Lullaby Renditions of The Clash on March 25th.  Clash hits like "I Fought The Law," "Rock The Casbah," and "Train in Vain" have all been reworked for newborns.

The Clash's Fender guitars -- played through overdriven Marshall amps -- and Joe Strummer's gruff vocals are traded for a soothing pallet of sounds that includes xylophones, marimbas, wood blocks, and bells.  The band's iconic London Calling album cover is also reimagined with a Rockabye Baby bear holding Paul Simonon's smashed bass.  The album's liner notes include The Clash-themed children's games and a baby food recipe named Fruity Can't Fail -- a play off of the London Calling track "Rudie Can't Fail."

Making rock music baby-friendly and kids' music adult-friendly, Rockabye Baby has given its lullaby treatment to the work of more than 50 artists including U2, Coldplay, Foo Fighters, The Smiths and Depeche Mode. The series has sold more than a million albums, has been praised by outlets including People, Spin and NME, and counts among its avowed fans Jimmy Fallon, Fergie, Elton John, Victoria Beckham and Ellen DeGeneres, who says the series "puts [kids] to sleep with cool music that you'll want to hear as well."
